Body Lift After Massive Weight Loss

Body Lift

Normal aging and dramatic weight loss can leave people with excess hanging skin all over their bodies. Whether due to bariatric surgery, significant weight loss, or loss of skin elasticity with age, body lift procedures at our plastic surgery practice can help remove and tighten excess, sagging skin to reveal the contours of your body. People with excessive hanging skin all over the body will experience the most dramatic results with a full body lift, but Dr. Jones tailors each body lift procedure to meet the patient's specific aesthetic goals. Body lifts can be performed on any part of the body, including the arms, buttocks, thighs, hips, breasts, and abdomen. We also offer upper, mid, and lower body lifts to target particular regions of the body. Patients experience especially dramatic results by combining body lift surgery with liposuction.

Unfortunately, insurance companies don't usually pay for this type of surgery.  They typically consider it cosmetic even if you've lost 200 pounds with bariatric surgery and have loads of hanging skin you have to tuck into your clothes.  Luckily, there are several companies that do health care financing for cosmetic surgery, such as Care Credit, Cosmeticredit, Chase Health Advantage and surgeryloans.com.  Dr. Jones offers complimentary cosmetic consultations, so feel free to call for an appointment and we'll be able to give you several price quotes and even help you get financing, if you would like.

Typical procedures for massive weight loss patients are: circumferential body lift (like a tummy tuck that goes all the way around), thigh lift, arm lift (to get rid of the "bat wing" deformity), and a breast lift (often with an augmentation because the breasts tend to disappear completely except for the hanging skin). These procedures are usually split into several different surgeries because it is too much to do all at once (both physically and financially).  Discounts are given by the hospital, anesthesia and Dr. Jones for multiple procedures done at the same time (like arms, & breast lift/with or without implants).

You can also check our Financing page and look into whether or not you would qualify before you make an appointment.  Give us a call or email us if you need more information on the procedures listed.  It is difficult to give prices over the phone, without Dr. Jones having an opportunity to see exactly what needs to be done.  I am sure you will like Dr. Jones and our caring office staff.
